These are just some basic rules and tips about battling in-game. Please make sure to abide by all of these rules to create a fair and fun experience for everyone!
Character Information - Certain information is required to be provided during a battle with another player. First and foremost, all players must post a link to their character application in their signatures so it is easily accessed if needed. To do this, visit the profile button on the navigation bar and select the orange Signature link. Then post the following string of code:
- Code:
-
[url="(Insert the Link Here)"](Insert the Name of Your Character Here)[/url]
In addition to providing a link to your character sheet, you must also post your chakra level at the top of each post in which your character is engaging in battle. More information on this subject can be found below. Finally you must post a spoiler at the end of each post that you character has used a jutsu. Inside the spoiler will include the block of information about the jutsu your character has used, for others reading your post to interpret exactly what the technique is capable of. Techniques which have not been approved yet and therefore not listed on your character sheet may -not- be used in battle under any circumstance! This is because they are not exactly explained in the standard suitable for roleplaying yet and at could potentially be abused. The above rule also applies to items used in battle.

Chakra Amounts - This site makes use of a Chakra Point System to monitor the capability of a ninja to perform a jutsu at any given time. Players should realize that this is not a strict point system, but rather a general guide to notify players of about how much chakra they have used during a battle and how much chakra a ninja of his rank would normally have remaining. The minimum amounts for each rank are as follows:
Academy Student - 12
Genin/D-Rank Rogue - 30
Chunin/C-Rank Rogue - 54
Special Jonin/B-Rank Rogue - 86
Jonin/A-Rank Rogue - 128
Kage/Sannin/S-Rank Rogue - 150
The above amounts are only minimums and can be increased during special circumstances. At the top of each post which involves a battle, you must indicate your character's chakra amount at the end of the last post, or the maximum amount if on your first post, and show the total deduction of chakra used by techniques inside of the post. The amount of chakra each jutsu uses should be stated within the level of the jutsu. Then solve the simple math and supply the current amount of chakra points that you will have after the post is executed.
(Insert Name Here)'s Chakra: 36 - 4 = 32
As stated before, the chakra points used in this system are not strict; if using a jutsu will decrease your chakra points below zero, you -may- still use this technique. However as your character approaches zero chakra points, he/she should begin to feel the effects of exhaustion and fatigue. If your character should ever fall within five points away from zero, he/she will have trouble moving around and avoiding attacks. Finally if your character should ever pass below zero chakra points, he/she will pass out if the battle has not come to an end after the end of your opponent's response to your next post.
Training Techniques - As your character grows stronger, you will want him/her to learn new techniques for use in battles, a primary factor in this roleplaying site. Learning a technique requires a specific amount of words to be written inside posts to be able to add the technique to your character sheet and for use in battle. The number of words for each rank are as follows:
E-Rank - 750 words
D-Rank - 1,500 words
C-Rank - 2,250 words
B-Rank - 3,000 words
A-Rank - 3,750 words
S-Rank - 4,500 words
**If your character's rank is lower than the rank of the jutsu he/she is learning, you must write an additional 150 words fore each rank difference.
**If your character is not being trained by a sensei, you must write an additional 150 words.
Techniques may not be used in actual battles until the full word requirement is reached, however posts written for sparring matches will count towards the requirement. After the jutsu is learned, each time the jutsu is used in battle or during training your character becomes closer to mastering the technique. Mastered techniques will have slightly stronger effects and use less chakra when performed. The following is a list of uses required to master each rank of jutsu as well as how much chakra is saved:
E-Rank - 5 uses (Subtract 1 chakra)
D-Rank - 8 uses (Subtract 1 chakra)
C-Rank - 12 uses (Subtract 1 chakra)
B-Rank - 15 uses (Subtract 2 chakra)
A-Rank - 20 uses (Subtract 3 chakra)
S-Rank - 24 uses (Subtract 5 chakra)
A particularly well-written post can, under a moderator's discrepancy, count as two uses. Similarly a particularly poorly written one may only count as half a use. When you reach the required number of uses to master a technique please contact a moderator with a link to each post so your character sheet may be updated.
Elements and Attributes - You may have noticed that each jutsu found in the Jutsu Library possesses both an Element and a Type, or attribute, and you were asked to choose one of each of these for your character. Both of these pieces of information dictate which techniques your character is allowed to learn and use. First for Element; your character is allowed to specialize in one primary element when starting at Genin Rank. At Chunin Rank, you will be able to select a sub element, and a second sub element at Jonin Rank. In addition when you reach Jonin rank, you may choose to reduce your main element to a sub element. In this case you may select and additional sub element for a total of four subs. A character may -not- under any circumstance specialize in all five elements. A primary element allows a character to learn any jutsu of that element, a sub element allows a user to learn up to C-Rank jutsu of that element, and if a character does not specialize in a certain element, he/she may only learn up to D-Ranked techniques of that element.
Attributes work similarly to Element; Every character will begin at Genin Rank with one primary type that can only be between Taijutsu, Ninjutsu, and Genjutsu. At Chunin Rank, a character may select a second primary attribute, and this time can be chosen from a wider variety of specializations. Finally at Special Jonin Rank, a sub attribute may be selected. A character may learn all techniques of which he/she is a primary specialist in, and all sub types allow a character to learn techniques only up to C-Rank. In addition if a character does not specialize in a particular attribute, he may only learn techniques up to D-Rank of that type.
Assisting Characters - Assisting characters are any characters that are not the main ninja of a player's account and are bound to tag along anywhere the main character visits. These characters may be used while roleplaying, but must follow a few rules. Firstly, assisting characters may -not- attack or defend the main character in any way during a battle. This is to prevent one-sided match ups from the beginning; at times, one side of a battle may become more populated than the other, but each place must be taken by a main ninja. This rule also evens out the chakra levels of battling ninjas because if a ninja with supporting characters were to be able to battle each character would have to have his own separate chakra, which is similar to multiplying the main character's chakra by the number of group members.
Canon characters may be recruited to support a main character, but this rule is strictly first-come-first-serve to prevent fights over characters.
Godmodding - Godmodding carries a wide array of definitions and connotations. In its simplest form, godmodding is the act of taking control of another character and forcing him/her to perform an action which has not been stated by the character's owner. However during battle, godmodding gains several more definitions.
Firstly godmodding in battle is classified as auto-hitting an opponent, or stating in your post that the attack has connected even if the attack seems impossible to dodge. It is completely up to the opponent whether an attack or technique connects with that opponent or not. It is your job only to describe the initiating of the technique. Because of this, it is generally discouraged to post far into an attack because if one of the first actions acre countered, the rest become void and do not take effect. Also godmodding can be considered as constantly avoiding every attack. Weaker attacks can easily be dodged, especially when battling against an opponent of much lower rank than your character. However stronger attacks can not always be dodged, and your character will eventually become tired if he/she avoids every attacks directed towards him. If either of these rules seems to be in the process of abuse, a moderator -will- step in and deal with the situation, as godmodding is extremely frowned upon in roleplaying and especially on this site.
